What are Microbes and Bacteria?
Bacteria and viruses are both microbes. Microbes are microscopic life. This includes bacteria, viruses, fungus, protozoa and parasitic worms. A pathogen is a microbe which can infect and cause damage. Bacteria come in many forms and are many many times larger than viruses. Bacteria reproduce by splitting into more bacteria. Viruses however must land on a bacteria and inject it with DNA. The DNA instructs the bacteria to create more viruses within itself and eventually, all the viruses burst out, killing the bacteria.
How do Bacteria and Viruses work?
There are various ways microbes can enter the body. They can get in through the nose, mouth, and through other entries. Once a pathogen enters the body it reproduces to overwhelm the body's defenses and that is what causes you to become ill.
